Alina

Alina I am still wondering if you're scared of me
hiding behind your castle wall
Alina I am wondering if that pain you seek
is hidden somewhere and lost
Please don't stand there with your finger in my face
I'm coming whether you like it or not
Please don't stand there poking fun at me
your beauty only hides what you're not
The storm is over now and you've been cast away
how does it feel to be lost
The storm is over but the pain you seek
Alina I still wonder the cost
All those faces looking down at you
I wonder will you last this time
Alina I still wonder if you'll make it at all
what business is it of mine

Flicker
03:28
|
|||
That man is down on his luck
A one time rambler whose life is crashed and stuck
Now cold and lonely
Thinking where he's been
Then he jumps a train
Hoping to start again
Smoking wasted butts, nowhere to rest
Hearing what others say about his looks in his distress
He had chased a ghost nearly all his days
Hobo hopping
Till the city lights fade away
Give me the last flicker of hope
Give me the last glimmer of hope
Lost out in the darkness till you find your rope
Give me the last flicker of hope
Stop in a small mountain town
Faces look elsewhere
But he didn't care
Just wondering from here to there
Maybe this is the place where he needs to fall
Maybe he's found his ghost after all
Give me the last flicker of hope
Give me the last glimmer of hope
Lost out in the darkness till you find your rope
Give me the last flicker of hope

Jubilee
04:31
|
|||
It's all out on the old railroad
All out on the sea
All out on the old railroad
Far as I can see
Swing and turn, jubilee
Live and learn, jubilee
I wish I had a new needle and thread
Fine as I could sew
I'd sew my true love to my side
Down the road I'd go
Swing and turn, jubilee
Live and learn, jubilee
My wife died on a Friday night
Saturday she was buried
Sunday was my courting day
Monday I got married
Swing and turn, jubilee
Live and learn, jubilee
It's all out on the old railroad
All out on the sea
All out on the old railroad
Far as I can see
Swing and turn, jubilee
Live and learn, jubilee

Deep Blue Sea
03:25
|
|||
I've climbed the highest mountain
I've run the fastest mile
I know the smartest people
Will you be worth my while?
She came in through the backroom
Her skin so pale and fair
I wondered to my own self
Will I ask her, do I dare?
The sea runs deep forever
The sea runs deep and blue
The current sweeps you under
What will become of you?
I thought I would impress her
Well, I thought that she would be
Amazed by my accomplishments
I took myself so seriously
She looked me over one time
And gave a little grin
Her love to important
For whom pride was no sin
The sea runs deep forever
The sea runs deep and blue
The current sweeps you under
What will become of you?

Road
05:06
|
|||
Run waters as we get
down water as we pray
Run farmers till the ground
before it's washed away
Searching are we all
then it comes real clear
Always blurred
that granite brownish hue
Well I've seen it before
Still I sit here in wonder
Followed like a star
We're on the road
Here we are again
it all seems so far away
Got carried away last night
the dreams they flood back in
Wasted were we all
then it comes real clear
We all have that chance
to start where we start again
Well I've seen it before
Still I sit here in wonder
Followed like a star
We're on the road
Lost are we all
till we're found once again
Time takes us all
spits us out again
I wondered once
where we all go again
Then it came back around
like a wheel or a circle spins
Well I've seen it before
Still I sit here in wonder
Followed like a star
We're on the road

Information

Take it from me, you can get it for free
Take it from you, it might be true
Get it from him, get it from her
Push it around baby, what's the word?
Someone else said, someone else said, someone said
Something about that news man really smells
Get it from a box till it hits the rocks
Sticks to you like a dream or socks
Wear it out but it's wearing thin
It's a trap, the fox is in
Someone else said, someone else said, someone said
Something about that news man really smells
You might hear it from your neighbor, your all time savior
Prepare for danger as it's coming like a stranger
Someone said that up was down
It's a pretty little poem till it hits the ground
Someone else said, someone else said, someone said
Something about that news man really smells

Not Long Ago
03:10
|
|||
Wasn't that long ago
you were sitting by my side
wasn't that long ago
I had nothing to hide
wasn't that long ago
I was happy and feeling free
wasn't that long ago
you were such a good friend to me
Then I think...
If I could just have a drink
on the brink
I don't want to think
Time changed and rearranged
I chose a different road to hoe
Mama cried but the tears in her eyes
were like dessert salt in Mexico
things got strange
I found a horse with no name
and oh how we rode
all that was was a couple of times
not that long ago
Then I think...
If I could just have a drink
on the brink
I don't want to think
Contemplate and wonder
who I am and where I am today
was a tree, fast cars or whiskey
that made me change my way
friends and family feel that way
with wonder in their eyes
but I just keep on trucking along
over bridges and rivers of lies
Then I think...
If I could just have a drink
on the brink
I don't want to think

Pavement
04:05
|
|||
Well this girl I've known to be
Everything lying next to me
Unseen future and I must know
Like an aperture scratching out on my window
This road I've seen before
Traveled over and down and more
The way may be old
But the pavement is new
This town, not new to me no more
There's a bar, a school and a grocery store
The people in it give me such a bore
I feel like running away
This road I've seen before
Traveled over and down and more
The way may be old
But the pavement is new
What's the new road
That I must take
Is it filled with smiles and birthday cake?
Or low down dirges that make your soul shake?
Answer me that question man
This road I've seen before
Traveled over and down and more
The way may be old
But the pavement is new

Tyranny of Time
04:37
|
|||
Walk along the road a while, you may find a traveler there
With a bright glow of desire, disaster in her hair
Jack of all the trades of men and a master of none
"What's her name?", you may ask
Ira, she's the one
Ira in her younger years could rob, steal and cheat
She still had all her fingers, she had the gift of deceit
When she stumbled on a game of chance, there was little risk involved
How was she to know, how that game would resolve
She said
Run Ira, run if you can
Run because you're free
Run Ira, the game is still at hand
Time's a tyranny
The dye was cast, and the tea leaves read, lightening struck the ground
The lights went out and Ira cried, "What game have I found?"
Suddenly a light shown down, it was silent and still
And then the spirit came down and took Ira at its will
She said
Run Ira, run if you can
Run because you're free
Run Ira, the game is still at hand
Time's a tyranny
She said, "I've had enough, my time is up
I'm ready to be released
I've work so hard, put in my days
and gathered for the feast"
Scattered, battered, tossed around, still coming back for more
If life is like a game, Ira wanted more
Spun out through the sands of time, the mystery unwinds
It's 100 foot of water, and it's so hard to find
Run Ira, run if you can
Run because you're free
Run Ira, the game is still at hand
Time's a tyranny

Loose Roosters Boone, North Carolina
Loose Roosters
Finer gentlemen, you’ll meet few
Writing songs that are all
brand new
Live in the mountains with a kangaroo
And boy who cries about the age of two
Many have tried to play as they do
But the soul of a rooster is required of you
Tell all you know to come from far and near
The roosters are loose so lend them your ear
